My name is Jennifer.  I have brain cancer.  I am a 30 year old who lives in a small town in Oklahoma.  I am married to a really spectacular man and a mom to a very adorable dog.  I grew up in a different small town in Oklahoma.   In 2007 I graduated with a degree in Surgical Technology and started working at St. Francis Hospital.  I worked there from August 2007 until September 2014.  For 6 of those years I was on the neurosurgery team and spent most days assisting in and setting up for all of the standard neurosurgical procedures, including the one I would eventually have.  During those years I even gave lectures at the school I had attended on craniotomies.  I feel that I have a unique perspective of knowing both sides of the brain cancer coin.  Honestly, I didn’t really know what happened after the patients left the operating room.  I had no real idea of what having a brain tumor meant in the long  run.  Now, I understand that intimately.  My whole life is changed because of this.
